Server Configs

08 10, 2006 @ 09:27AM

I was asked a seemingly silly queston today, but I don't wish to arrogently dismiss it.

Scenario:

iis 5.0 server feeds a results from a servlet engine. unusual session timeouts are occuring. The servlet engine is assumed to be behaving predictably. the question is: can an iis session timeout affect a servled engine session.

My initial resopnse would be: F-No, different technologies there is no way iis could cause a session timeout in a servlet engine. I've done some goog'n and found nothing that even touches the element of this query.

so please, feel free to play the devils advocate =)

You're right, the application server would control the timeout. Now I wouldn't be suprised if IIS was munging up the session cookie, or something like that.
